ibis Styles Villeneuve sur Lot

We had a good meal at the restaurant virtually next door, then came back to the hotel's 24-hour bar and tried a few spirits, ordering with more hand signals and action sounds. Earlier, we even managed to negotiate a 4 euro discount the same way, which earned us a lovely smile from the pretty receptionist. It's a good, clean hotel with very helpful staff, and worth the extra cost compared with staying at the other motel a couple of miles away. A good overnight stop and worth the money. Our washing dried a treat on the windowsill.

It's brand new, with pleasant staff and a great location. There are three chain restaurants within walking distance, and the bed is a true king size. One odd thing: the shower door has no handle on the inside. The French windows have no screens either, so we spent ages chasing a fly without success.

The location is good, though breakfast was only okay. Since I arrived late in the evening, I couldn't find a taxi or Uber from Agen Trainstaion and had to get a lift. They should consider offering a shuttle service.

Excellent breakfast, and good service. There are food outlets right next door.
