The menu could use a change more often, but this has been one of our favorite restaurants for over 10 years because it’s always such good value. We love how the dishes are creatively interpreted, from the starters through to dessert. The ingredients taste fresh, the flavors are clean, and everything is nicely presented and delicious. There’s an interesting wine list, mostly regional bottles, and they’re generally above average in quality. Prices are very reasonable. The setting is lovely too, with a well-kept area among the trees, by the pool and veranda, plus a more natural riverside side. Service is attentive, courteous, professional and cheerful. They even smelled wonderfully fresh, which isn’t something you often notice during a hot summer!

A reservation is a good idea, and arriving around 12:15 seems best. The service was friendly and professional. We enjoyed the excellent food, with weekday menus priced at €19-25 and an especially generous selection. There’s a huge choice of gins, rums and whiskies, too. After lunch, coffee under the shady trees is a nice way to take in the views of the beautiful lake or reservoir. The restaurant is wonderfully located just off the A75, and in summer you can rent boats or pedalos there. Definitely worth the trip.

The dishes are stunning and creative, and the friendly service was a real highlight in the area. Such a beautiful spot, dining under the vines beside the pool.
