Le Gîte de La Ferme Du Tertre

The cottage made for a really comfortable, relaxing stay, and breakfast from the farm was hearty. We also had a barbecue, which was a real feast. The kids loved meeting and milking the cows, seeing the calves, piglets, chickens, cats, and rabbits, and riding the tractor with Hugues. There were apple trees, a little play park, and plenty of open space for football and pétanque. We came for my birthday weekend and the whole family had an unforgettable time. Mr. Hugues welcomed us warmly and showed us the gîte, farm shop, and local products. Remy talked us through milking and shared lots about the cows' care and behavior, including why cows and calves are separated after birth. Hugues and Remy both speak good English, which made it easy to enjoy all of that. Hugues even kept answering our questions promptly while he was traveling and went out of his way to make the birthday special. We used the farm as a base to visit Les Chevrettes du Terril, Terril des Argales, LoisiParc Aubigny-Au-Bac, the spa in Douai, and pony rides for the kids. It was a lovely mix of farm life, comfort, and family fun. We’ll be back, and I’ve already recommended it to friends and colleagues.
