Appart'city Marseille Aeroport Vitrolles - Appart Hotel

The room was clean enough and fine for a single night, but I wouldn't suggest staying longer. The shower is absurdly small. I've been waiting four days for a reply to my email asking for a receipt. Since it's a two star hotel, staff aren't required to speak English, so don't count on getting help by phone either.

My security deposit still hadn't come back almost a year later. I first waited a month and a half with no refund and no word from apart city, and this place feels like a scam. The rooms are extremely run down and look nothing like the photos. When I arrived in the country, I'd had a wireless Hotspot mailed to the hotel. The evening desk employee was rude at check-in and wouldn't check whether the package had arrived. I had no cell service, and the hotel wifi was cut off shortly afterward. He said he would only put in a request to help at noon the next day, when he knew I'd already be gone. I've never been treated that way by front desk staff. Deplorable service. Do not stay here.

Ants were along the bathroom and bedroom corners, and after two nights I started waking up with bites on my legs, feet, and back. The rooms are in very rough condition, and none of the kitchen outlets worked. I couldn't get service, so I had to shift the appliances around just to use the microwave and fridge for my groceries. It's a 10 minute walk to the train and 30 minutes from the airport. There are small restaurants and grocery shops down the street.

There wasn't anywhere to eat around the hotel, so I had to walk all the way to the airport to find food. The location was pretty awful. The hallways smelled, but my room turned out to be quite clean and, to my surprise, the AC worked. The reviews made the place sound catastrophic, though it wasn't as bad as I'd expected. I chose it because it cost so much less than the other options. For a single night it's not bad, but I wouldn't recommend it for a longer stay.
