Breakfast was part of the stay, with a small but fresh and plentiful continental spread and a staff member keeping an eye on it. The staff we met were polite and spoke reasonable English. A couple of restaurants are a short walk away, with a large supermarket complex and McDonald's about 10 minutes on foot. We walked to the tram, which was easy to find and reach; it took about 20 minutes, and trams into Lille came frequently. The hotel is basic but functional. Our room was clean and tidy, with bedding and towels. The heater worked well, but the bedside lights didn't. We didn't mention that to reception. The shower was usable but not what we expected, and water got outside the door. Still, there was always hot water.

The reception staff were kind and nice, but the bedding was concerning. One sheet had shoe marks, which we documented with photos, another had visible mold, and the remaining one was covered in dust. The sheets looked as if they hadn't been washed in a long time. The toilet also kept flushing continuously, which made me question the hotel's water conservation and sustainability.

It was fine for me 😄😄 The place felt clean and secure, and nobody could get inside without the door code.

The staff member was efficient and friendly, but I wouldn't stay here again. It's very basic, and cleanliness leaves a lot to be desired: the toilet was dirty, everything felt grubby, there was lots of mold around the shower cubicle, and the shower floor drain had no cover.

The welcome from the staff is what brought me back after my first visit, and I'm coming again next week. The rooms and bathrooms are very clean, the staff are lovely, and I sleep like a baby here. It's close to restaurants and a big shopping centre. I hope I can keep getting a room at Ibis Wasquehal because I really like the place. I'd recommend it for a stay.
