The Wi-Fi was the one real letdown. It came and went across several devices, and even finding a way to sign in could mean restarting a phone or setting things up manually. When it worked, it was painfully slow. If you need reliable internet, you may be disappointed. Everything else made for a lovely stay with Chantal. We were welcomed like family, with fresh croissants each morning and freshly baked baguettes, plus baguettes and crepes on our last day. Chantal was comfortable using Google Translate, so although we speak almost no French, communication was barely an issue. The house is beautiful, with elegant furnishings, lovely woodwork and stonework, and Victorian Décor. My wife thought the garden and décor were a photographer’s dream. Chantal clearly puts a lot of love and time into the nearly one-acre garden, with its different little scenes and seating spots. The towels were unusually high quality too, and huge. Our “Family Room” felt more like a whole family wing: an adult bedroom, a loft for the kids, separate bathroom and shower room, and a comfortable sitting area. The loft has quite steep stairs, so I wouldn't suggest it for small children who aren't used to stairs. For our two older kids it worked well, with two beds in an enclosed sleeping space and heavy curtains to block drafts. The home sits at the edge of the pretty little French Village of Watronville. There's not much commercial activity in the village, so you'll need a car to find somewhere to eat. Central Verdun is about 15-minutes away.

Chantelle was waiting for us outside when we arrived and made us feel welcome right away. The house and rooms were clean, with a French old style look. Breakfast was delicious, with homemade croissants, confitures, cake, and banquette. A very interesting experience.

Dear Sirs, We stayed at your place eight days ago, and this key turned up in our laundry afterward. We think it may belong to the back door of one of your ground floor rooms. Could you identify it or check whether it fits? Best regards!

We've already booked another visit for this summer. The owner was lovely, and the gardens were beautiful and so peaceful.
