We visited during the first rainy week of autumn, when it was about 10 °C, and the wood stove kept our place warm. We even cooked comforting meals over the fire. The bungalow and trapeur tents are fully equipped, though you need to bring your own towels and sheets. They’re tucked into the forest with plenty of privacy, and the tent area is set among trees in a way that respects nature. The bathroom and shower facilities are well spaced out. The indoor pool was handy, but I’d have liked it a couple of degrees warmer. And don’t skip the French baguettes and croissants at breakfast. Such a lovely spot in the Vosgos.

The croissants are good, though the baguettes were hard to chew. In July and August, many guests are Dutch, but most of the information is in French. The Dutch guests all speak English, but not French. There still aren’t EV chargers in 2025, so charge at LeClerc while you do your groceries. The forest gives most pitches plenty of shade in summer. Campers and RVs have less luck, since most are parked on gravel without shade.

The new toilet block was nice, but the pool, bar and lounge all felt worn out. As campers, we mainly want friendly staff and clean facilities. The staff weren’t especially welcoming and gave the place a corporate feel. It didn’t live up to the marketing, so I’d look for a local campsite nearby instead.

The site was clean and quiet among the trees, and the swimming pool was very large, though sadly unheated. We had a great bike tour with the kids. When we got a flat tire, the very friendly, flexible camping chef came to pick us up and was happy to help. I think his name was Patrick.

The pitches are idyllic and the site is beautiful, though it’s hilly. The pool and reception area feel cozy, the facilities are clean, and the staff are friendly. Even with the site completely full and staff busy, the manager did a fantastic job helping us after I booked the wrong pitch. The one drawback was that there are no shower facilities by the pool.
