Pied a terre Wimereux a 2 pas de la plage et du centre

As a stopover, it was OK and not too far from Calais. The rooms were dated but clean, and breakfast was good, though I only noticed the grill with bacon as I was leaving the dining room, nobody had pointed it out. Disabled parking was incredibly difficult to find. Reception and the bar closed at 7pm. We had to unlock the side door to get the wheelchair in, then lock it again from inside. When we returned around 9.30pm, the building was completely dark apart from a small porch light, and getting wheelchair access unlocked again was complicated.

The staff were friendly, but couldn't fix the problems. They did offer 10% off the bill. The hotel is advertised as having flushing toilets, Wi-Fi, hot water, working lights, air conditioning and bathroom toiletries. It doesn't have any of those things. If you want flushing toilets and other modern luxuries, don't stay here.

The rooms were very clean and tidy, with modern decor and a well appointed bathroom. We loved the view of the viaduct, especially in the evening, when the sun turned the stone different colours. Reception staff were lovely, polite and friendly. We didn't have breakfast, but the breakfast room looked very nice. Even though the hotel is by a main road, the double glazed windows kept the noise barely noticeable. Wimereux is a great place for a short break. The restaurants close a bit early, but you can still find a couple of places for good pizza and watch the sun disappear into the ocean from right in front of your table. Hotel st jean is highly recommended by us. We weren't hassled at all, and the price is good for such a nice hotel.

The location is handy for restaurants and the gr120 walking path. Rooms are quiet, well equipped and have good beds and bathrooms. There's a bar reserved for hotel guests and a pool table on the ground floor. Breakfast was good, with good local cheese.
