Château de la Marine

We were there for 3 days and 2 nights with the whole family, and loved how cozy it felt. Every room was lovely, and the beds were good. The hosts, Christine & Guy, were super friendly and welcoming. Our room wasn't cleaned during the stay, but for just a couple of nights I didn't feel that was necessary. Breakfast was a treat: tasty French bread, croissants and pain aux chocolats, freshly made orange and apple juice, and eggs cooked to order, either omelettes or fried. We'd 100% come back.

We were surprised that the bedroom wasn't serviced during our 3-day stay, and the towels weren't changed. We didn't ask for this, but nobody offered either. The breakfast bread, croissants and eggs were good, though I found the extra charge for cheese and charcuterie unusual for a French B&B. The location worked well for Boulogne Sur Mer, Wimille, Wimereaux and the A16 route to Calais. Our bed was huge and comfortable, the blackout was good, and there was water and a Nespresso machine in the room. There was also a lovely lounge downstairs.

Breakfast had a superb spread, with cereals, fresh fruit, pastries, breads, cakes, cheeses and a choice of eggs. We had a very clean room, a nice ensuite bathroom and a view over the Chateaux gardens. Guy and Kathryn, the owners, were lovely and friendly, spoke very good English and were happy to help with anything. A fabulous night at a high end B&B, I'd highly recommend it.

Dinner in the local town meant a bit of a drive, which was the only drawback for us. Otherwise, it was a brilliant stay: gorgeous rooms and bathrooms in a fabulous property, with a generous breakfast and great quality food. The hosting family were lovely and still very professional. I'd definitely go back.
