The room was only about 10 square metres, and we paid 274€ for one night. For a summer night there was no window we could safely open, so we had to sleep without fresh air. The hotel across the street cost half as much that day and had much better facilities. We arrived to find too few sheets and blankets. I texted the owner directly, and he replied but didn’t offer to help. Some of us ended up on mattresses, which were dirty too. The only spare bedding was for the sofa bed, stuffed in the closet, and it smelled stale and sweaty. The toilet was yellow inside, with sand all over the floor. For two adults and two kids we got just one little packet of shampoo and one of shower gel. Don’t trust the photos, go and check before booking.

The sea view was lovely, and thankfully the problems didn’t ruin our weekend. I’d booked for a weekend in June, but they called to say there’d been a double booking and offered us the apartment right next door, calling it “the same one.” It hadn’t been renovated like the first apartment and felt much less welcoming. Cleanliness was a letdown too, with sand in the shower, old coffee marks in the coffee maker, dust, and cobwebs. I mentioned it in their satisfaction survey, but they didn’t respond at all.

The sea view is magnificent and the place is well equipped. Pack light for the few stairs. The salt-eaten outside of the doors can make them look like prison cells, but don’t let that put you off.

A handy little studio, decorated with good taste, in a lovely spot right by the water. Wissant beach is magnificent. We’ll definitely be back.

The welcome was great. Our small studio for two was comfortable and practical, and we got to enjoy the turquoise sea and a magnificent sunset.
