Hôtel de la Baie de Wissant

We rented one of the hotel’s apartments, a roomy duplex with a fully equipped kitchen that felt very homey. The sea view was great, and there was private parking by the sea. Everyone on staff was super friendly and helpful. We chose to have breakfast at the hotel. It could have been great with a wider selection and a local baker’s products instead of pre-baked stuff.

The reception staff were cheerful and very helpful, and breakfast was worth the price despite not being cheap. The coffee was good, and the fresh orange juice machine made very good juice. The rooms are clean, and paying extra for a sea view is probably worthwhile. There’s a Nespresso machine, but no kettle or fridge in the room, though there is a communal fridge in the corridor. The hotel is right on the beach. To use the car park, you need to report to reception first. There are no windows in the rooms, so for ventilation you have to leave your door open onto the shared terrace. Highly recommended.

The location is excellent, not far from Calais for the ferry. Rooms are clean and comfortable, though fairly basic. Friendly staff and private parking too.

We slept really well: the beds and pillows were comfy, and it was extremely quiet at night. The shower was fantastic, with great pressure, and the Wi-Fi was surprisingly good. The rooms are okay, though the table could be bigger, and the terrace is okay too. Breakfast had good options, and I loved the fresh juice from the machine. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend it.
