We were there to celebrate a birthday with friends. The setting is really nice, but the sleeping arrangements are basic and there aren’t enough partitions.

We rented Foyer Saint Martin in Retournemer for a private birthday event and will definitely be back :). The common rooms are bright and spacious, and the shared kitchen is fully equipped for entertaining. The place can host a large group, with modern bathrooms at the dormitory entrances. Outside, there’s a barbecue that works well. The setting is stunning, right in the heart of the Vosges Mountains, with gorgeous mountain views and a small lake.

A lovely warm welcome, and beautiful walks by the lake. We rented the cottage for a birthday and had a wonderful time. It was warm, practical, and very clean.

The owner was unfriendly, and the dishwasher broke once. The Wi-Fi was out, the heating didn’t work properly, and the rooms felt like prison cells. Shame there’s no zero-star rating!

The site and scenery are breathtaking. The dorm showers, toilets, and rooms are very old and need renovating, and the common room has wobbly tables and flooring that needs replacing. Cleaning supplies are easy for younger children to reach, so a secure, enclosed storage space needs to be found for them.
