I spent 14 hours here and came away feeling there was no hospitality or friendliness. I paid €78 for a room with a dirty window and TV screen, and the open shower drain was so poor that water flooded the bathroom. I skipped my shower the next morning. I also had to ask for the Wi-Fi password and instructions for the TV. I was cycling to Strasbourg the next day on an expensive e-bike, and needed to charge its battery overnight. The bicycle shed had no outlet, and I couldn't take the battery out. The gentleman, whose name I still don't know, wanted me to leave the bike outside and charge it however I could. His garage was off limits. He said he had never had a bike stolen, but that didn't make me feel any better. He was annoyed about running an extension cable from the house to the shed when I arrived. I found that response unwelcoming and rude. The booking arrangements were also poor. The host emailed that a booking was possible, and I made it, but never explicitly confirmed in writing that I had a room for August 8-9. I asked for confirmation by email and didn't get it, so I called twice from Germany. I wasn't bothering him, I just wanted to know I had a place to stay after cycling 100 km. At breakfast he pointed out that butter is cut differently in France. Outrageous. When I was leaving that morning, he came over with the bill. I didn't apologize at the end; I only said our meeting hadn't been positive and that I thought it was a shame. He also offered me a beer when I arrived, though I don't drink alcohol. Never again! The small host family from Germany was a delight at breakfast the next morning.
