We left feeling unsettled and wouldn’t recommend staying here. There were no keys for the front door, and none of the bedrooms had locks. Our children were at the far end of the house, so they wedged a cupboard against their door, as we did with ours. The shower room had no curtains or shutters, which left us unsure whether someone outside could see in while we showered or used the toilet. We were the only family staying. The older woman who let us in went away after telling us to secure the gates with a bicycle chain and lock. During the night, we all woke to strange noises and footsteps in the building. It felt spooky, and the house seemed insecure. In the morning we wanted to leave. We hadn’t paid for breakfast, but the older woman had prepared it, so we ate it even though we didn’t really want to. We were charged €25 per person in cash.

The rooms are magnificent, and the castle itself is beautiful. The owner made us feel incredibly welcome. It’s well worth stopping for a night.

The estate is magnificent, with comfortable beds and a generous breakfast. We received a very warm, personal welcome, and the castle’s long history was a big part of it. Access may be difficult for people with reduced mobility.

Christian, the owner, and Michèle, the housekeeper, welcome you to this beautiful property. We loved the huge park and the château, renovated throughout while keeping its original character. The region is great for walks, peace and quiet, and a change of scenery. Come for an evening or a weekend, and they’ll have plenty of stories to share!
