Domaine de l'Arnaudière

The floors, windows, tub, fridge, mirror and other surfaces were filthy, and the place seemed completely neglected inside and out, pool included. We booked for one night and never saw the towels that were supposedly provided. The pool table couldn't be used because its cues were broken. The owners live on site, something the Airbnb listing hadn't mentioned. One of them came into our accommodation in the middle of the night without knocking or warning us, then the next morning their five dogs turned up there. I absolutely can't recommend this place.

The Domaine de l'Arnaudière has plenty of charm, but the upkeep was very poor. We arranged a bachelorette party there and were quickly disappointed by how dirty everything was, including the floors, tiles, sheets, mirrors and kitchen. The mop and vacuum were unusable, both missing their handles. Later, the owner blamed us for not cleaning the floors. We couldn't enjoy the pool either because it was not maintained, as the photos show. Aline was extremely dishonest about the property's upkeep and even sent us threatening text messages. A real disgrace.

We even got to share a barbecue with the courteous owners. The house was spacious and clean, and the pool was large and clean too. It's a peaceful, relaxing place, with a private terrace at the back. Since we love table tennis, we were able to treat that space like our own during the stay. I'd recommend it.

The breakfast was really generous, and the pool was large and deep, with parasols and sun loungers. We spent two days here and got a lovely welcome from the owner, Aline, who's very friendly. Our superior double room was pleasant, with perfect bedding and a spacious bathroom with a bathtub. It stayed cool inside, which suited us well with at least 30 degrees Celsius outside. A peaceful place for a successful stay.
