Breakfast is always generous, and there are all sorts of animals around, including some spectacular parrots. We travel with our two dogs and stay in one of the gites, where they can roam freely while we cook a nice dinner. We’ve been back to this slightly different kind of place at least ten times.
10/10
The host is formal in manner but friendly, and the atmosphere makes you feel like a castle lord for the night. The rooms are spacious, well equipped, and the beds are good. Breakfast has plenty to choose from, and it’s a lovely place for a night or two at a great price.
10/10
The food was very good, and the beautiful setting is just as appealing. It’s a lovely spot for a quiet holiday away from crowds, with a chance to recharge.
2/10
The rooms were OK, and the surrounding area is beautiful. But keep an eye on the dogs, especially if you have children. When we arrived for our second stay, one of them behaved aggressively toward me and my children.
8/10
The gardens are a little run down, though still pleasant to wander around. The building is beautiful, the room was very comfortable, and the food was nice. Good value, and well worth a visit.
