Hôtel Restaurant Au Riesling

We only booked one night and ended up staying three. The countryside is peaceful, but Colmar is still easy to visit from here, and the hotel sits right on the Route des Vins with lovely vineyard views and scents. You can walk straight into the vineyards. The rooms are quiet, comfortable, reasonably priced, air-conditioned (very welcome during the summer heatwave), and have great blackout. Breakfast is optional. We tried it once, liked the coffee and selection, then often skipped it so we could set off early. Parking on-site is comfortable and seems popular with road-trippers. The staff are very friendly, and we loved our stay.

The Easter dinner at the hotel restaurant was a real treat, with well-made dishes and excellent service. They were thoughtful about a flexible menu for my wife, and we also appreciated the complementary wine tasting. Our room looked out over the alsacian vineyards, and from the moment we arrived the staff made us feel at home. A charming place for a relaxing Easter weekend, with lovely food and a touch of luxury.

The view was jaw-dropping each morning from our climate-controlled room beside the shared terrace. We also enjoyed the included visit to Bott Freres. The staff were warm, welcoming, and enthusiastic, and the plentiful breakfast was great. We tried the half-board menu and were glad to sample some local dishes we probably wouldn’t have chosen otherwise. For a younger couple like us, the price-quality ratio on the 3 = 4 deal was excellent.

Dinner was delicious, with very generous portions, and they gave us some good recommendations when we wanted to try different wines. The hotel has an amazing view, and breakfast was extensive, with everything there.
