Being right in central Aberdeen made it easy to get around. My room was spacious, clean, and warm, with everything I needed to rest comfortably. The staff were friendly and ready to help, and Mr. Reuen, the manager, really stood out and made the stay better. I’d definitely recommend the hotel.

The location was handy for both the town and the station. My room was clean and the bed very comfortable, and the bathroom was clean too. The staff were really nice and helpful.

The breakfast was the best part of our stay. Five of us were split between two rooms in two different buildings, and the place was called the Brentwood, not the Highland. The triple room was dingy and dirty, and the hotel looked worse than the photos, which must be very old. It needs a lot of work and definitely doesn’t feel like the 3 stars Visit Scotland awarded it.

It’s an old hotel, though the owners have tried to brighten it up with prints and comfortable couches. The lobby has big couches, and the staff were very helpful. My room was large enough, with an electric heater that worked fine, good lighting, working plugs, free WiFi with no issues, and tea and coffee. The room and its clean bedding and towels were clean. There were plenty of drawers and a wardrobe. Street and corridor noise was there but minimal. A few things weren’t great: the TV had Netflix and YouTube options that didn’t work, and some channels buffered. The mattress was worn out and had no give. The basin was cracked, its light didn’t work, and the shower was tiny, with a temperature that swung between boiling and cold. I kept bumping the shower lever. The curtains were too short to block the street light, and there were gaps in the ceiling panels. It’s called the Highlander Hotel but also Oyo Brentwood. I paid £29 for the room. Buffet breakfast was available for £9. Overall, no complaints.

The sheets and toilet were dirty and smelled bad. Our room door wouldn’t lock properly, and two drunk people on either side were noisy until morning, so we couldn’t sleep. I told reception, but they ignored what I said and acted as if it was fine. It was an absolutely disgusting experience. I’d never come back or recommend it. Worst experience.
