It was a very comfortable stay, but the breakfast setup needs more thought. With no manager on site, the breakfast items were put out the day before. Guests could take things like fruit whenever they wanted, so there was little left for breakfast the next day.

There’s parking at the rear, and you can take a good bus service into Aberdeen or walk there in a straightforward 30 minutes. Room 6 was comfortable, with a bed, wash basin, chair, wardrobe, and small TV. There’s a lounge with a TV and kitchenette on the first floor, and a breakfast room on the ground floor. Breakfast had cereal, fruit, bread, and Crossens. Water for the kettle was kept in the fridge, and a microwave was available too. Just note that when things are gone, they’re gone, and there’s no tap access in the breakfast room or lounge. This was my first experience of accommodation managed remotely. There wasn’t staff on site apart from a cleaner once a day, but communication with Management by text was good.

There was no cooked breakfast, just a very basic spread of cereal, a banana, an apple, toast, jam, butter, tea, coffee, and juice. Yogurt or pastries would have been nice. We had one shared shower and toilet for three rooms, or six guests. The room decor looked straight out of the 80s and smelled damp. At £44 a night, though, can you really complain?

Carol is such a lovely, caring, friendly owner. She made sure my child and I were comfortable, then went even further and helped us with her car when we were in trouble. The room was cosy, and the shower was very comfortable. During our short stay, Carol made a home for me and my child. Thank you, Carol!

The continental breakfast was nice, and the room was clean and comfortable. Carol was friendly and well organized, keeping in touch while arranging the room and explaining how to get there by bus. A lovely guesthouse in Aberdeen.
