Bull Hotel

The free car park was a plus, but the food was awful. I had the mixed grill: the steak was a grey slab of alien meat, somehow undercooked and overcooked all the way through. The chicken was beyond cooked, with no skin on the breast and blistered meat. The pork loin and gammon were gross. The sausage was okay, though clearly low quality, and the chips tasted of old oil. I can’t understand how anyone rates the food highly.

The room was clean and the bed comfy, and the food was great. We arrived soaking wet from horrible torrential rain, and the staff were especially welcoming and helpful. We’d stay again.

Three nights at Bull Hotel made for the worst hotel stay I’ve ever had. There wasn’t a single towel for the whole visit, and the room had no tea sachets, milk or other essentials. Completely unacceptable at full rates. The rooms were in awful shape, and the floors literally shook when someone walked by, which felt unsafe and very uncomfortable. There’s no lift, so luggage was a nightmare to carry, and the bathroom didn’t even have proper lighting. The owner was the worst part. He was unbelievably rude, arrogant and egoistic, dismissing concerns instead of dealing with them. The customer service was pathetic. This place is a disgrace to hospitality, with uncomfortable rooms, no service and a toxic attitude from management. Staying here was a horrible mistake. Do yourself a favour and avoid it at all costs. There are plenty of better hotels nearby, so don’t waste your money or peace of mind.
