The staff were the best part, especially one woman who was attentive and very helpful, though I didn’t catch her name. The hotel itself was the worst Premier Inn I’ve stayed in, even if it still beats some other chains. We paid for parking, found hair on the pillow, and heard the main road all night. One bed-side socket was dead, the other side had a bar stool instead of a bedside table, and the bathroom fan roared like a plane. The lift wasn’t working, and nobody was at reception when we checked out. Food was as expected for Premier Inn, no better or worse. We were sent to the old address behind a school, where signs clearly said it was private property. Other guests seemed to have been misdirected too. I eventually found the right place by searching past reviews for the Tesco people mentioned. I reported the issue to Google Maps, and they’ve updated it. For the price, I’d spend an extra £20 and stay elsewhere.

The windows don’t open, so the room gets stuffy and sweaty. Parking costs extra. On the plus side, it’s next to Tesco and an easy walk into town. The staff were lovely, especially the woman cooking breakfast, who was really kind and helpful.

It’s handy for a night out in Abingdon, with Tesco right next door and the town centre about a 20-minute walk or a five-minute taxi ride away. We slept really well and had no noise issues. The staff were very friendly.

Our dinner table seemed to be forgotten by the staff, and after almost half an hour I had to go ask for service. Earlier, our room appeared to have been changed and was set up for one person, although there were three of us. The sofa bed wasn’t made, and there was just one towel and one cup. My daughter had to go down to reception twice to get things sorted. The receptionist could only give us one key, which was inconvenient since it controlled the lights as well as access to the stairs and lift, leaving two of us in the dark. The manager was excellent and came to fix the problems himself.

Room 124 was basically okay, and the bar, restaurant, and location were fine. But the shower was filthy, the worst I’ve ever seen in a hotel. The cubicle should be torn out. I spoke with staff several times and emailed the hotel too, but nobody seemed to care. It’s more than disappointing, and I’ll never stay at a Premier Inn again.
