A quiet public garden where you can sit and relax, with a lovely path down to the River Thames.

This is a lovely, carefully tended garden, open to visitors looking for some peace during daylight hours. They need money for repairs to the house, so if you can spare some, do stop by.

I’d lived here for years before I even learned about this peaceful place a few weeks ago. I had a beautiful garden of my own for more than ten years, but this one is truly lovely, a little sanctuary. It’s close to town, which is convenient, and with my poor mental health, stress, depression, and anxiety, I’m hoping to visit more often and find some peace for a while, away from the nearby car alarms and emergency service noise. Thank you, Dorothea Pickering and the volunteers 🫶

Not about the B&B, just the garden. It’s delightful, full of flowers and plants and right beside the Thames. A lovely spot for a picnic or a chat with friends. There are a few rooms where you can sit and watch the river, so even on a rainy day you can still enjoy the garden. They had some plants for sale out front, and there’s a sanctuary you can visit too.

It’s really a multi-faith meeting place with rooms, though most meetings and events happen in the spacious, beautiful garden that stretches down to the Thames River.
