The Ship Inn

We’ll be back after our first visit to The Ship Inn. The kids’ menu had plenty of choice, and the portions were generous for the price. The food looked lovely and tasted great. We felt relaxed and welcome as soon as we arrived, thanks to the fantastic setting. Service was friendly and attentive throughout, and the whole family had an easy, enjoyable time. We’d definitely recommend it.

The buffet was delicious, and the chef kindly put together a vegan salad at short notice. We visited The Ship Inn for my Dad’s funeral wake, and the setting was beautiful. Thank you for being so accommodating. I’d highly recommend it and hope to come back when the circumstances are happier.

The staff work incredibly hard, and the service is second to none. There’s a proper pub atmosphere here, too. I’ve never had a bad meal, the food is unbelievable. Looking forward to Sunday lunch tomorrow.

We’ve already booked to return in November. This was our first visit to The Ship, meeting up with friends from Malton while we’re based in Wakefield, as we do every couple of months. What a lovely country pub by the river! Ryan the chef deserves congratulations for the delicious food, some of the best we’ve tasted, and the dishes were presented brilliantly. Lewis and Oscar were behind the bar and brought the food out too. They were both so nice, and nothing was too much trouble. Acaster Malbis is lucky to have this pub and restaurant. I’d highly recommend going for the food and hospitality. They also offer bed and breakfast, a perfect package if you fancy staying by the river.
