North Coast 500 Pods

The large pod was spacious, comfortable and very clean, with everything we needed to cook for ourselves. There's also a communal barbecue area. We had a hot tub but didn't use it this time. The campsite looks out over hills and fields with horses. My main issue was the bathroom, which had no door. That wouldn't be ideal with four people, and I didn't like it even as a couple. We like going out for food and drinks, but as an older couple we found the village too far to walk to along a twisty, unlit road. There are no taxis, so one of us had to drive to Bora and couldn't drink. Sid's Indian restaurant was very good. The pod owners advised us to book ahead, and we were glad we did because the restaurant was so busy it was turning people away. I'd recommend the pods if you're after solitude, but they weren't right for us.

The pods are very close to the beach and well equipped, but ours faced the entrances of the other pods, so there was no view at all. Four adults staying three nights felt far too cramped, with everyone on top of each other. It would be perfect for two. The price would've felt fair with some kind of view.

My parents loved their stay so much that they haven't stopped talking about it since returning from their Scotland road trip. It was easily their favourite place they stayed. They liked the layout of the site, especially the communal fire pit and the well-lit paths to each private pod. The pods were cosy, comfortable and well equipped with everything they could need, and the surrounding views were beautiful. They'll definitely be back.

The pod felt luxurious, and it was modern, beautiful and clean, with everything we needed and more. We only stayed one night, but the lovely hot tub left us all feeling really relaxed. We'll definitely come back if we're in the area again.
