The Queens Arms Hotel

For walkers on Hadrian's Wall path, this was just what we needed for a night nearby. The new owners gave us a really warm welcome, and the pub had a friendly feel. The rooms are simple and no-frills, but perfectly fine for our needs. Having breakfast things and a fridge in the room was handy, as was the little shop by the bar for snacks for the next day. I’d definitely recommend it to walkers.

The room was bright and airy, with the basics plus useful extras like a fridge and microwave, and the bed was comfortable. I came up alone for a race along Hadrian's wall and needed somewhere nearby the night before. The Queen's Arms was a great fit for a short solo stay. Check-in and checkout were self-service, so I didn’t see staff during my visit, though their numbers were available if I’d needed help. We had a great laugh on Friday night, thanks so much! The room was fine, with two single beds and an ensuite bedroom, and the welcome from our friendly southern friend behind the bar was lovely. It’s a great little stop for the night before taking on the Marie Curie 22 mile trek. The locals were friendly too, and the fish and chips next door were great. 😋

We found the room just right for what we needed, nothing fancy. The pub was very welcoming, and its little convenience store came in handy as we travelled along Hadrian's wall. They didn’t sell ales, but recommended a place down the road. There are three other boozers on the same street.
