We came in because it was CAMRA pub of the year 2026, and the beer was really good. It’s a nice little village pub, and sitting outside in the sunshine with some of their excellent ales was lovely.

We’d been hiking all day and the food was just what we were after, proper British home cooked grub. We stopped by for the first time with a friend at about 2pm on NYE, without booking, so we knew it might be a gamble. They welcomed us in anyway, and the staff were really nice. We really enjoyed it and will definitely come back next time I’m in the area :)

They were really friendly and so accommodating with our dog. The food was superb, and it was nice to see some choices beyond the usual pub classics without things getting too fancy. Absolutely fantastic pub.

Finished off a great Sunday lunch with treacle sponge and custard, plus decaf coffee. The roast beef came with all the trimmings, the service was good, and the Ribblehead Bitter was spot on.

The evening meal was lovely and breakfast was spot on, especially the best poached eggs ever 👌. We had an amazing stay at the Victoria, and would definitely stay again.
