The location was good, and the staff we met were pleasant, friendly, and accommodating. The pub itself was busy, but we didn't eat or drink there, so I can't comment on the food or drink. We stayed for two nights and can only speak about the room. We paid a premium, I think, because it was the weekend of the Air show. At the price advertised now, I understand it may be more like a budget hotel. The downstairs room was adequate, but there was a damp smell and mould in the room, and many of the fittings were rusty. The bed was hard and uncomfortable, though the pillows were good. There was a small hanging area for clothes. The bathroom also smelled very damp. There was no towel rail or shelf for toiletries, and nowhere to put anything. The shower was powerful and the water was hot. Our room was right outside the beer garden, so it wasn't quiet. Would we stay again? No.

The bed was very comfortable, and after a really good night's sleep we had breakfast with just the right quality and portion size. The breakfast staff were attentive without being overbearing. We were about 30 minutes from the airport, and it was relatively easy to get there. We arrived around 8, and the young woman working the bar checked us in. She was friendly and helpful. The room was a bit threadbare in places, but absolutely spotless, with really good quality linen. The bathroom had a musty smell, which I think may have been because the extractor fan wasn't doing much. I'd picked it simply because it was the cheapest, nicest-looking cheap hotel I could find for one night. I was flying from Birmingham airport for the first time and wanted to stay nearby because I don't like driving a long way to the airport on the day I fly. The place is in the middle of a housing estate and looks like a 70s community pub, the kind that almost looks like a community centre. My impression, which could be wrong, is that someone took real pride in the business and understood that being a lower-end hotel didn't mean cutting corners. I'm very glad we chose it. Would I stay again? Most definitely. Would I recommend it? Yes, definitely.

The rooms were clean and comfortable, and breakfast was amazing. Everyone on staff was friendly and informative when we checked in and out. We'll be back. Thank you Alcester Inn.

The restaurant meals were really tasty, with a nice variety. The rooms were fresh and clean, and nothing was too much trouble. Thank you for the kind hospitality and friendly service.

The pub was full most evenings, but my room was surprisingly quiet. I only heard cars leaving at kickout time and, early in the morning, what I guess were builders setting off for work. I wasn't too bothered, as it gave me a nice wake-up call. The bed was good and there was a nice choice of pillows. As a single occupant, I didn't need a couple of the pillows and left them on the wardrobe shelves. My main issues were in the bathroom: there was no shelf by the sink for toiletries, the shower shelving was missing, and bending down to reach shampoo and such can be quite dangerous. There was also nowhere handy for a bath towel near the shower, other than the toilet lid or wash basin. All in all, a nice place to stay.
