Premier Inn Aldershot

Gina, Luke, Matt and NJ always do a solid job, and the food is consistently top notch. I keep staying here whenever I work in the area because it’s straightforward and I know what to expect. I always book the premier plus rooms and get a great stay each time, no matter which premier inn I’m working from. I can’t speak for the original rooms.

The hotel was clean and well maintained, and the staff were friendly and helpful. I’d stay again for our next conference and recommend it to friends and family. I was there with a church group and had forgotten to reserve early, so only a wet room was left. I called and spoke with Bozena, asking if she could monitor my booking and switch me to a double if there was a cancellation. She said she’d do her best and keep an eye out. A big shout out to Bozena, she kept her promise and managed to change my room. I also had a portable air conditioner, which I really needed. That’s exceptional service. Huge thanks to Bozena.

The silver lining was going home the next day. Yeah, pretty disappointed. The HK Team deserve a big shout out, and the main receptionist was great. He moved us to another room, where the toilet refilled slightly quicker, though it really only needs one new part. This hotel isn’t tired, it’s exhausted. Even after hoovering, it still doesn’t look different. I don’t think it’s ever seen maintenance, apart from when outside contractors come for audits. The toilet took forever to refill, and details like bath plugs, shower heads and lampshades could surely have been replaced. The lighting seems to date from when the place was first built. Apparently the cost of LEDs and their energy savings haven’t been enough to inspire a replacement schedule. Keep up the good work, guys, but no green card this year, that’s for sure. The staff were excellent.

The welcome at reception was great, as it always is, and I love Premier Inn. The restaurant was a different story: although we’d booked days ahead, our meal took more than an hour and a half, with no warning about the wait when we ordered. Nobody apologised until we went to complain. Even paying was a hassle; we had to go to the bar and wait another ten minutes. We left feeling it just wasn’t good enough.
