The Windmill

The staff were fantastic throughout, friendly, welcoming and attentive, and the hotel had a warm, relaxed feel. We felt well looked after at The Windmill Hotel. Our room was spacious, comfortable and beautifully kept, and the location was spot on. We loved our stay and would gladly return.

Check-in was friendly and professional, and the hotel is in a perfect location for a very good price. The room was a good size, nicely decorated and had plenty of space to unpack. There’s a nice bar with a good range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. There aren’t any dining facilities in the hotel, but there are plenty of places nearby.

We got a lovely warm welcome and were told we’d been upgraded for free. Instead of the double room we’d booked, we had an apartment with two double bedrooms and a huge living, dining and kitchen area. The sofa also converts into another double bed, which was an amazing treat after a busy day out with family who live locally. We walked to the Coop and picked up something to heat in the microwave, since it made sense to use the upgraded facilities. The shower was lovely and warm, with a great massage setting. The rooms were all clean, warm and welcoming. We used the double bedroom with the divan, as the other room had a metal bed frame that can creak when you move even a centimetre, and we’re not keen on that.

The staff were super friendly and even offered plates and cutlery for a local takeaway, which was helpful since no food is served. Our room was clean, nicely decorated and had tea and coffee making facilities. A lovely place to stay and very good value for money, though the lack of food is a bit inconvenient.
