Phil and Adele make it easy to settle in, whether you fancy a pint and a laugh or a quiet meal. I’ve eaten here a few times, but last night’s steak night really stood out. The locally sourced sirloin was lovely and cooked just right. This pub has everything I’m after.

The kids were very happy with their burgers, and the rest of us loved the food from the smoker, especially the ribs and pulled pork. The brisket had been slow-cooked for eight hours and was delicious, so tender it just melted in your mouth. We came for dinner as three adults and three kids, and found a cosy village pub with a fire, plenty of choice and lovely staff. A really nice surprise. Thanks, Emma.

The staff were a friendly bunch, and there was a nice atmosphere with decent drinks. They kept chatting with customers throughout the evening, especially the dogs. Thanks for the warm welcome that lasted the whole time we were there.

We only stopped for drinks, and they were spot on. We felt welcome, and had a nice seat by the fire. We’ll definitely come back next time we’re in Allendale.

It was great staying here for the night with my son and daughter in the family room. We all enjoyed the food, and breakfast was lovely too. Thanks for keeping the picture of my dad in the corner. Good to see it’s still there.
