Woodlands

That little nook at the top of the stairs was a favourite with everyone, whether for reading or watching people and the sunset. The house has loads of charm, and the decor suits it so well. My nephews are convinced it's the best holiday house ever, and it was lovely having cakes waiting for us when we arrived. Helen and Bill were so helpful whenever we saw them. They even brought batteries over when something stopped working. Helen also gave Mum a bottle of wine for her 70th, which was such a kind gesture. We left Allonby feeling happy and having made two new friends. Hope we get back soon. We'd already decided we wanted to return before the end of our seven nights at Woodlands. Helen had replied to my post in a local online group when we were having trouble finding somewhere for Mum's birthday. Our dates were fixed around work holidays, and finding a place for eight was hard. We know Allonby well because family live there. Woodlands is just right for popping down to the beach at sunset for photos, strolling along the shore or path, or heading to the pub for a meal or ice cream. We hoped to wait for the Northern Lights too, but they were only visible on our first night, when we all slept through them.
