Alnwick Lodge

The freshly cooked breakfast was delicious, served in a dining room with large tables, and the owner was happy to help with anything. It's an unusual place, an antiques centre and gift shop that also works as a B&B, right beside the A1. You can hear some traffic, but it isn't overwhelming. The owners welcomed us at check-in, which is between 4 and 6pm. The cosy rooms are in a separate building across the courtyard, with ensuite facilities and a tea tray. I slept well, although the walls are very thin and you can hear every word from the next room. All in all, a good visit.

We love coming back here, and this was our sixth stay, on our own and with friends, family, and young kids. The hosts are so warm and always happy to suggest places to visit or help with directions. It's excellent value, with an outstanding breakfast. The beautiful grounds and gardens are lovely, and each room has its own theme and lovely decor. The beds are very comfortable, and the rooms are clean, warm, and cosy. It's a five minute drive from Alnwick, and local taxis were around £20 for the return trip at night. Thanks again for having us, we love it.

Our family of five and two dogs spent two nights here this weekend, and we had a brilliant time. It was cosy, pretty, and very accommodating. The staff were helpful and polite, and we can't wait to stay again.

We've stayed here for years, and it remains as lovely and quirky as ever. There's a proper real fire in the lounge, and the friendly hosts make us feel almost like family. You'll need a car to get anywhere from the lodge.
