The Market Hotel

I've been away working for a long time, and this is one of the best places I've stayed. The rooms and food are great, and the staff make you feel at home. Stace, Martin and Dave are fantastic. I'll definitely be back. ☺️

The restaurant was beautifully laid out, from the decorations to the table settings, and everyone made us feel at home on Christmas Day. The hospitality was first-rate, nothing was too much trouble, and the lunch was plentiful, well cooked and really good quality. A big thank you to Martin, Stacey, Dave the manager, the bar team and the kitchen team for making it such a great experience for all of us. Thank you from Mike, Barbara and Rob.

The manager, I think his name was Dave, was attentive and helpful. Service here is hard to beat, and the people are friendly and know their stuff. The food is great, with generous portions. I love this place and can highly recommend it.

I went in with my dad a few weeks ago on a whim, and our Saturday lunch was lovely. It was fairly busy, but we found a quieter spot. I'm ND and hear noise differently, so I really appreciated that they didn't turn the TVs up until things got busier. I could focus on what Dad was saying. The gentleman serving us worked out an order around the three-course offer, plus a meal for my dad, and kindly split one pudding between two bowls without us even asking. After years working in restaurants and hotels myself, I know how much those small gestures can matter. The food was simple and tasty. My apple crumble came covered in custard, just how I like it, and Dad finished his huge hunter's chicken portion. The chips were amazing too. Thanks to the team. We'll be back, it's a great place for Dad and me to meet up between our homes and catch up. :-)
