The Old Post Office B&B

This was our third visit, and we've already booked again for next year. We love staying here. Michelle and Paul are fabulous hosts, always happy to help. We'd booked a table at the barn owl, but couldn't get a taxi for over an hour. Paul kindly asked his son to take us so we wouldn't miss our reservation. When I lost an earring, Michelle kindly posted it back to me. You won't be disappointed.

The peace here was a joy after Manchester, and the short drive from the city was pleasant. I stayed years ago while commuting to Sale each week in my tiny red Micra, looking for somewhere to relax and recharge. The old post office was just right, and became my favourite place to stay. The hosts were so welcoming. Some evenings I'd get back to hear, "We've just opened a bottle of wine, would you like to join us!" The rooms had all the trimmings, including my own lounge and fireplace. The main guest bedroom had a bath of Hollywood proportions. The award-winning country pub with fine food, 'The Swan with two nicks', is a pleasant short walk down the lane. If work took me back, or I was visiting the gardens or holidaying nearby, I'd make a point of staying again. The only odd thing was the price, it seemed way underpriced.

We had a great night's sleep in the comfiest of beds, and Michelle and Paul made sure nothing was too much trouble. They're a lovely, genuine couple, and their warm welcome and hospitality made this quaint old post office feel even more special. We'll definitely stay again.

A lovely continental breakfast, and delightful hosts who made us feel welcome with lots of extra touches for a relaxing visit. The accommodation has a spacious bedroom with ensuite, plus a private lounge with its own separate entrance. There's off-street parking, too.
