There’s lots to see and do nearby, and there’s plenty of room to park. They also cater for disabled access. The hosts make you feel very welcome and are happy to help. Food is fresh, local and delicious, the rooms are comfortable and clean, and those homemade chocolates are divine!

Mike and Patsy were such warm, welcoming hosts, and their knowledge of the District’s history and places to visit was spot on. They pointed us towards beautiful, peaceful Tarn Hows nearby, and helped us find the easiest places to get around the lakes on a mobility scooter. They even lent us an A-Z, which was handy when the GPS signal let us down. The house felt like a charming home from home, with a great view from our decent-sized, spotless room. A couple in our party got engaged on the first day, and the hosts had a card waiting for them the next morning. It’s those thoughtful touches that make you want to return. Their lovely pup Gracie was there too. I’d told them ahead of time that I’m vegetarian, so each morning I could choose a full English breakfast with veggie sausages. The homemade chocolates were a delicious surprise, with a different flavour every day. We also tried the Hawkshead Relish relishes from Hawkshead with breakfast. I’d happily stay again. You won’t find a nicer couple.
