Prince of Wales

As the bride’s mum, I’m so grateful to everyone who helped make the day special. We had our wedding breakfast here and booked two rooms for the wedding. The service and food were both 100%. I’d really recommend this pub, and many thanks to all the staff.

The food was okay, though the coffee and hot chocolate were very mediocre. We had three cooked breakfasts and hot drinks on a Saturday morning, but two items were missing. We had to ask three times, and they only arrived long after we’d finished the rest. The waiter who took our order wasn’t very cheerful, and didn’t apologise.

Jade and the two young women serving us worked hard, and Jade handled things very professionally. She’s a treasure, with a lovely presence in the pub. Unfortunately, the meal itself was awful, and the landlord came over and spoke loudly about the situation in front of everyone, which was really embarrassing. We meet up for a nice meal every couple of months, and yesterday at PoW was not what we expected. I can only agree with what Caroline says. We won’t be returning.

The staff were so friendly and welcoming, which made the food letdown feel all the more unfortunate. We sent the 'Premium Burger' back because it was greasy and overcooked. Without the cheese and bacon, each an extra £2, it would have been a plain burger in a dry bun. There was nothing premium about the meal or the experience.
