The staff were friendly and helpful. I enjoyed the Sunday roast, with good food, generous portions and vegetables cooked perfectly. The children’s meals were well priced and good value, and the others in my group really liked their sea bass.
A lovely country pub with friendly staff, comfortable rooms and good real ale, all at good value. Why choose a faceless hotel when you can stay here for less?
The garden was beautifully kept, with amazing views, and the landlords were lovely. Inside, I got a very friendly welcome and found the place clean and stylish. There was a good choice of ales, cider, lager, wine and spirits, and the food was excellent, nicely presented and full of flavour. A winner all round.
The ambience was lovely, the staff friendly and the food good. I’ll definitely come back for lunch in the garden, especially for that view. I hear there were new owners in 2015, so the older reviews aren’t helpful.
This is a brilliant local, with lovely views and a real community feel. The accommodation is great too if you want to get away from a Travelodge and those standard “Lenny Henry” rooms. They like dogs too!
