Balnabrechan Lodge

We come to Scotland for at least three nights each time, and the lodge has started to feel like our second home. It’s spotless, with a well stocked room and kitchen, and a big, comfortable bed. The setting is magical, especially watching the sun go down over the fields from one of the patios. Beautiful lunan bay is an easy walk away. Jules is a wonderful host who knows the area inside out. Just book and enjoy!

Lunan Bay is an awesome beach, and we had some brilliant days there. Jules gave us great recommendations and helped us discover the area. She’s a warm, welcoming host who clearly loves where she lives and knows it well. We had a lovely stay, definitely worth a visit.

You can sleep in complete quiet here and see the stars at night. It’s a peaceful, very comfortable place in the lovely rural coastal area around lunan bay in Angus, and only a 10 minute drive from Montrose or Arbroath. Easy to find too. As an energy reader, I found it just right for grounding and recharging. Wonderful.

Jules made my stay feel special from start to finish. She was thoughtful, friendly, and such fun to chat with, and shared lots of tips for places to go and things to do. Those suggestions became some of the highlights of my visit, and there are wonderful walks in every direction. The cottage was gorgeous, airy and full of sunlight, with lovely views across the fields and beautiful furnishings, art, and ornaments. The bathroom was fabulous, with lovely toiletries, and the bed was so comfortable I didn’t want to get up. There were great hot drink supplies and a treat of shortbread. Having a fridge and microwave for simple meals was handy too. I highly recommend the Upper Dysart Farm Shop. It’s a peaceful spot, close to stunning Lunan Bay and Arbroath. I’m definitely coming back to explore more and enjoy Jules’ hospitality again.
