The owner being biker friendly gets this place a gold star from me. The house was warm and clean, with lovely views across Loch Long. There are plenty of places nearby to walk, eat and drink in friendly surroundings. It’s also ideally placed for visiting parts of the Scottish Highlands, and a beautiful, comfortable place to stay.

After four days walking the locks and hills around Ardgarten, it was lovely to return each afternoon to Goldberry cabin. It’s modern and vibrant, well equipped, with views of Loch Long from the verandah and a little secluded garden out back. We had everything we needed except a washing machine, so bring enough clothes. James and Mandy were very hospitable. We walked through the forest to the viewpoint at Rest & Be Thankful, then got stranded when the bus didn’t stop for us. James went above and beyond and arranged a pickup. I can’t recommend the place highly enough.
