Book ahead, as the place seemed full by the time we left. Given how good the food was, that’s no surprise. We had a fantastic Sunday lunch last week, with superb food and presentation. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Highly recommended.

The pub itself was lovely and the waitress was lovely too, but the food took too long to arrive. People were finishing while others were still waiting, and a non-vegan dish was served to a vegan without any apology. The food was good apart from the very watery custard, and a cushion would have been welcome. It’s a rural pub and a nice enough place, but I won’t make the journey again.

The onion rings were fantastic, with a light, crispy batter and definitely not frozen. I also had delicious sausage and mash. The staff were friendly and efficient, and it’s a lovely old-worldly pub that seems to be undergoing some changes. I’ll definitely go again.

We stumbled on a brilliant place for families, with a really friendly feel. The food was the standout: that Japanese milk bread was lovely, and the burger, with its amazing pretzel-style bun, might be the best I've ever had.

The pub itself has a cosy feel, a lovely setting and atmosphere, and a good choice of beers on tap. I'd happily stop for a drink, but I wouldn't eat here again. For the prices, I expected something much better. The portions felt like children's servings, especially the £26 lamb hotpot, which was no larger than a medium starter. I honestly thought another plate was still coming. The chips were barely warm, too. The fish and chips weren't good either. There was a lot of oil, the fish was small and mostly covered in chewy batter, and it didn't taste freshly made. I wouldn't recommend the food.
