The Sunday roast was so good we came back for it, and it was exquisite. We’d been very well fed on our first visit too: generous portions, incredibly tasty meals, and an amazing chef. Our large, diverse group included a child and had allergen needs, and the super friendly staff made sure we had everything we needed. The pub serves the locals really well, and I wish it were closer to me. The baby in our group loved the dogs, and we did too.

The lamb pies were so generously filled and the portions so big that neither my wife nor I managed to finish ours. They came with vegetables and chips, and were delicious. It’s a welcoming, dog friendly pub with excellent ales, a cosy fire, and staff who did everything they could to make us feel at home. Thoroughly recommended.

After a cold walk, we stopped for lunch and both ordered the beef pie. The beef was tender and succulent enough that I didn’t need a knife, and the large dish came with fresh vegetables and chips. We enjoyed every mouthful. The pub itself looks a little tired, but the food more than made up for it.

The staff made Sunday lunch much easier for us as a family. Our three children have additional needs, and they were fantastic about accommodating them. Our youngest is a restrictive eater, so they separated each food item to help her enjoy everything. Those little touches really matter when eating out. The food was fantastic too, and I’d recommend a meal here. Thanks to all the staff for helping us.

The young staff were pleasant, but the place brought back memories of the run down pubs I knew when I was young. Inside it was very shabby, with dogs wandering around the tiny, scabby kitchen. It looked as though grease was creeping up the walls, and the food looked frightening.
