Premier Inn Ashford North

We’ve stayed at Ashford North Premier Inn several times while on vacation, and my wife and I have always been pleased. It’s quiet and centrally located for visiting Kent’s attractions. We hope to make it back every year.

The staff were excellent and quickly swapped our cups when we asked, but we’ll pick somewhere with proper temperature control next time we visit friends nearby. Our room was 25 degrees in November, and the supplied fan only pushed the warm air around. It was tucked into a nook with little airflow, and the window opened only a smidge. The place was very dated and needs a refresh. There were no USB ports, and having just one plug on one side of the bed wasn’t great. The shower was powerful and hot, though the sink water had an odd taste. After staying at quite a few Premier Inns, this was probably the worst one. It partly served its purpose.

The restaurant was great, with a good choice of food and a deal for hotel guests. The beds were clean, and Le Shuttle is conveniently close. That’s about the only upside, though. The hotel badly needs a revamp, the corridor smells musty, and the room and bathroom need a proper clean.

Anne gave us a friendly welcome when we checked in and saw us off just as warmly at checkout. Our room was clean and we slept well during the weekend stay. There was also a lovely, friendly little cat that slept in the stairwell during the day, a particular highlight for me and my partner as animal lovers. It’s an easy, pleasant place to stay if you’re in the area, and I’d recommend it.
