We spent Valentine’s weekend here and had a fabulous time. The fresh Scottish breakfast set us up well, and the dining room and cosy pub lounge were lovely. Prices were very reasonable, too. Nikki and her team were a real pleasure, always smiling and ready to help with anything. That sort of personal welcome is refreshing. Thanks, Nikki. Family-run places like this deserve support, and we found it far better than the corporate places. Mick & Wenda X, ATB.

The food and service together make for a really enjoyable meal, and the welcome is friendly with a nice local feel. There’s a lovely log fire, too. I’ve been several times and will certainly be back.

We were travelling through and stayed overnight, and the welcome and service were friendly throughout. The dinner menu was excellent, the cooking was very good, and it was great value. It’s exactly what I’d hope for from a pub with rooms, and we really enjoyed both the meal and our stay. They made a big fuss of our little doggo, too, and are genuinely welcoming to dogs.

Had a lovely lunch in the sunny garden. I ordered the beef pie without the pastry because of my annoying dairy allergy. It was homemade and top marks. Very dog friendly, even though I hadn’t brought my dogs along. And people friendly too!

Nikki, her husband, and Jasper, head of fun, were fantastic hosts, and we’re looking forward to coming back. We stayed one night as a holiday stopover; our fresh, clean room overlooked the beer garden and had all we needed. The evening meal and breakfast were both lovely, and the bar is beautifully decorated. Great food, welcoming people, and a very comfortable bed made for a great night’s sleep.
