There’s loads of parking, and the position of the shelter stone is great. The photos show what you get, and you won’t go wrong staying here in Aviemore. We had a wonderful time and made a great place to build memories. Many thanks.

There was plenty of room for the kids to run around, and the dining table was big enough for all of us. The kitchen was well equipped, the location was handy, and there was tons of parking. The house was perfect for celebrating my 50th birthday with friends and family. I’d recommend it as a good base for a large group.

The house was well equipped for a big group and very clean, with excellent amenities. We were three families, 12 people in all, and had a wonderful February long weekend. Dinners in the large dining room were lovely, and we enjoyed the living room’s log fire, TV and games. It’s well placed for exploring: we loved the reindeer centre, the walk to the green lochan, and the Highland wildlife park. A fantastic weekend, and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the Shelter Stone.

The house has four shower rooms plus a separate toilet, so none of us had to queue. The rooms were comfortable and quiet, and there’s a downstairs bedroom with its own bathroom and walk-in shower, useful for anyone with restricted mobility. All the other bedrooms are upstairs. For families with toddlers, the two high chairs were much appreciated, along with board games, a big supply of complimentary firewood and a very well equipped kitchen with loads of everything. The utility room sink was handy for dirty hiking boots. There’s plenty of parking, and it’s a 10-15 minute walk to the train station, shops and other amenities. Bus stops are just outside. We stayed in January 2020 with a large group of friends, then returned in July 2024 with four children, and the house suited us perfectly both times. It genuinely caters for large groups, and when we come to Aviemore with a bunch of people, I won’t look elsewhere.

We’ve stayed so many times I’ve lost count, and the house has had several improvements, all to a high standard. It has six spacious bedrooms for our families, parking for at least six cars, and lots of room throughout. The kitchen is well equipped, while the huge dining room and other social spaces work brilliantly for getting together. Fantastic house in a great central location. I can’t recommend it enough.
