Chalmers Bed Breakfast

It’s well placed for a seven-minute walk to the centre, with restaurants and shops, and there’s free public parking on the road. Jennifer is very friendly, and the rooms are pretty and clean, though maybe a bit small for three people. Fine for an overnight stay. The bed was good and I slept very well. Breakfast was delicious, and Mylo, the cute dog of the house, is asking for rests :-)

The single room I had was cosy and very comfortable for the space available. Breakfast and service were both excellent. It’s only about a five-minute walk to the centre of Ayr, and there’s free street parking. A wonderful place to stay, I’d recommend it.

The room was bright, fresh, clean and nice, and the bed was comfy. My friend and I stayed there, and Graham, the owner, was lovely. Then we tried to open the sash window and it came crashing down, nearly taking our hands with it and damaging the wood beside the frame. It gave us such a fright and spoiled the evening a bit. When I told Graham, he said we’d have to pay for the damage. I didn’t think that was right, since we hadn’t deliberately broken anything and it could have happened to anyone. We felt bad for him because he was such a nice man, so we gave him £25 towards fixing the frame, though we were well within our rights not to. Our safety should have come first. If a child had been at the window, it doesn’t bear thinking about. Still, it’s a lovely little place to stay.

The hosts were so friendly and welcoming, and the accommodation was clean and bright. Couldn’t have asked for a better stay. Whenever I’m in the area, this will be the first place I check for a room.
