We had dinner here on the night we stayed, and the menu had plenty of choice. The food was delicious, and all the staff were friendly and really helpful. Our room was clean and nicely decorated, with a great bathroom, plus plenty of tea, coffee, and biscuits. There was also a good selection of breakfast goodies. A great place to stay, highly recommend.

The sirloin was the best pub steak I’ve ever had. Everything on the plate was beautifully cooked, and the onion rings were perfect. The staff were really friendly and the service was good. You could choose a sauce at no extra cost, and I went for peppercorn. Give it a try if you’re in Bakewell.

The staff were lovely and attentive, and they gave me all the information I needed to choose safely as someone who’s gluten free. I had the sausage and mash without the onion rings, while my boyfriend loved his pie. We stopped for a weekend away, and the room was really nice with plenty of refreshments. The food was lovely too. We’ll be back.

A good old-fashioned pub in central Bakewell, with decent beer and honest pub food. The beef pie and chips were great, and I had a nice pint of local Farmers beer. The lady serving us was lovely and very pleasant.

We went to see the landlord and landlady, who we knew previously from Beverley, when we visited the red lion in June. It’s right in the centre, very clean and comfortable, and the staff made us feel so welcome. The outdoor area is fairly large, with plenty of seats and a doggy station. We didn’t eat, but what we saw looked lovely. Definitely worth a visit, and we’ll return. Thanks, Rachel, Alex and the staff xx Col n Carolyn x
