Strathassynt Guest House

The location suited us perfectly, just minutes from gorgeous views and hikes. One trail through an almost magical wooded area began only a two-minute walk from the Strathassynt. Neil was quick to answer questions and requests, and made us feel so welcome. Neil and Katya have made this feel like a real home away from home. The rooms are bright, comfortable and spotless, and breakfast is memorable. Don’t miss the pancakes, though the scrambled eggs and smoked salmon on a bagel with a little cream cheese were a lovely combination too.

We’ve stayed with Neil and Katya several times, and they’ve always been friendly, engaging and helpful hosts. The rooms are pleasant, warm and spotless. After a long hike, that shower is hard to beat, and breakfast sets you up nicely for the next day. For such a popular area, the prices are more than reasonable. We’ll be back.

We stayed two nights with our young children, who were visiting Scotland for the first time. This was our first stop of the trip, and it set a standard nowhere else managed to beat. The room was spacious and very clean, with comfortable beds, and we felt safe both in the house and in the small town. Neil and Katya were lovely, welcoming hosts. Breakfast was great, and they were quick to help with answers to our planning questions. We’ll be back next time we visit!

Neil and the others were fantastic hosts at the Strathassynt Guest House. Each morning he’d ask about our plans and offer advice for day trips and hikes. The food was simple and delicious, made to order without delay, and I loved our morning chats. Neil has a lovely sense of humour. I had a relaxing stay, with easy access to much of western Scotland. If that’s what you’re after, this place is well worth a stop.
