We'd absolutely return, and I'd come back tomorrow if I could. The location is superb and parking was great. Staff were friendly and helpful, the breakfast was lovely, and the reception and bar/restaurant areas were beautifully decorated. Our room had a nice modern bathroom and a great shower, and was sufficient for our needs. Some of the decor could use a little TLC, but nothing affected our stay. My only preference would be a softer mattress and pillows. The mattress in particular was very firm. I know you can't please everyone, but most hotels I've stayed in seem to choose a middle-of-the-road firmness. We both slept, though we each woke with slightly achy backs.

The food was scrumptious, especially the duck breast, and the whole experience felt great in every way. The rooms were spotless, the beds comfortable, and the facilities helped us warm up after a cold day out. The hotel and its lovely, helpful staff made the break feel luxurious. We felt well looked after.

The hotel is lovely, and all the staff were brilliant. The bar team were easy to chat and laugh with. Treat people with respect and you get it back, shock. The top-floor rooms are really nice, though a little small and with sloping walls. I banged my head a couple of times. Nothing there deserves a low rating. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely come again, even to the same room on the top floor 🙂

We stopped for one night to break up the drive home from Scotland and wished we had more time. The room was a good size and well equipped, and the staff were friendly and helpful. It was ideally placed for a beach walk with a view of the Castle. Breakfast was excellent, and a nightcap in the bar, with its friendly atmosphere, rounded things off. We'll be back.

The hotel is beautiful, very clean, with comfortable beds and a great location. The receptionist was incredibly helpful. Breakfast was very nice too, though the service there lacked empathy. We were told to sit wherever we liked, so we chose a table. When I asked for a side plate, I was told we shouldn't be sitting there and sent to another table. We moved, but still didn't get any side plates, so I was walking around with toast in my hand. Ten minutes later, nobody had taken our tea or coffee order.
