I tried the Croque Monsieur and honestly liked it more than any I've had in Paris. The bedrooms are just as impressive: each has restored original furniture and a French château feel, with names like Bonaparte, Matisse and Monet. Even the bathrooms and downstairs toilets follow the same theme. I’d been looking forward to the refurbishment ever since it began, and finally got to visit today. The interior is stunning, full of French elegance and thoughtful details. It’s only two minutes from me, and I’d love to have my family stay here when they visit. Bampton’s lucky to have this little gem.

The setting and service were both lovely, and the French food was fantastic. We especially enjoyed the Escargots and French Onion Soup, while the Venison Steak special was delightful. Would definitely recommend, five stars.

We had a really good working stay with the team at the Fleur de Lys. The hotel was comfortable and conveniently located in Bampton. The food was delicious and excellent quality, and the service was attentive. We’d happily stay and eat here again.

The chilled, comfortable setting made for a great lunch visit to this new pub and restaurant. I chose from the prix fixé lunch menu and found it good value. The dinner menu looked tempting too, especially for a bigger meal. It’s all French-style food, with classics and some of my favourites. I’ll be back.
