We enjoyed being close to Neptune’s staircase. It isn't especially famous, but it's worth a quick visit. The location just outside fort william was handy, with free parking and a little yard for sunny weather, though we didn't get any sun during our short August stay. The rooms were comfortable and nice, even if they weren't large. There's no lift, so bear that in mind if you're bringing a lot of bags. Our main disappointment was the mattress, which seemed to be on a couch-bed and wasn't very good.

The room had already-used towels, and for 80 pounds I would have expected it to be clean. The walls are very thin too, so you can hear the wind and other guests on the stairs. There was a light breakfast with chocolate bars, oat meal and water. Getting checked in was more complicated than it should have been because I never received a code for the locker box.

Very tidy and clean, but the beds and pillows are back-breakers!

The bathroom needs work. It feels dated, the separate hot and cold taps are unpleasant, and the little shower swung between boiling and freezing. Shampoo would have been useful. The room itself was okay but cramped. The bed was comfortable, though the bedspread felt too small for two. The floorboards creak, and with paper-thin walls you can hear other guests coming up the stairs.

We felt really uncomfortable here. The multi-bedroom villa had self check-in and no soundproofing, so every noise from other people carried through. The old furniture and dirty bathroom didn't help, and the old COVID signs were still up. On the ground floor, two reclusive Venezuelan women live behind blinds, apparently the housekeepers, with their living area separated by tape. The owner also failed to mention the best place for breakfast on the port. The price was exorbitant for this kind of accommodation. Avoid it, it should be taken off the market.
